What does one of the world’s largest imaging and electronics companies do to make their Oracle EBS change at the pace of Business?
At the New York Panaya ERP Leadership summit, Gail Guillotte, Vice President of Enterprise Solutions
at Ricoh USA, spoke to a group of distinguished executives about this very challenge.
Ricoh, relies on Oracle eBusiness Suite. Their ERP platform is accessed by 25,000 users in the United States and supports business areas from sales, marketing, customer service, SCM, finance, and human resources.
The Goal
Ricoh’s team wanted to reduce the risks involved with upgrades and other changes required by the business.
And at the same time, being able to reduce time to market and keep their budget in scope.
Before using Panaya, upgrades, patches , releases and rollouts were time consuming.
At times, with unseen delays and defects during go-live.
The Journey
In 2014, Ricoh decided to evaluate Panaya. During their evaluation period, Panaya identified several issues that had serious business impacts and costs that Ricoh was previously unaware of. They were ticking time-bombs.
Panaya made the invisible visible, even before the project began and with no effort from Ricoh’s team.
This enabled Ricoh to go-live on time and with much more confidence.
Ricoh, were able to shift from single-digit to Zero critical defects after go live!
The following year, Infosys and Panaya helped Ricoh standardize on Panaya. Ricoh started using Panaya for continuous change impact analysis and test acceleration.
In 2016 Ricoh also went live with a very successful EBS 12.2 upgrade.
Ricoh is leveraging Panaya’s impact analysis and test acceleration capabilities to create an effective standardized method and practice, to deliver Oracle EBS Changes Faster and safer:
- Gain full visibility and control for any change within first 48 hours.
- Raise 80% of the defects in the first days of the project.
- Scope and prioritize testing and reveal the rest of the defects as early as possible.
- Leveraged Panaya’s MyTest for HPQC to seamlessly record and capture test execution and defects identified by functional experts and key users
- Mitigate risk with all changes to Oracle
